Day Construction’s fourth project for Centinela Hospital was the addition of a state-of-the-art cardiac care center, The Tommy Lasorda Heart Institute. The project included new cardiac catheterization labs, patient rooms and the latest in medical technology research and services.

Day Construction performed a well executed project employing solid management, scheduling and construction skills. Without disturbing hospital operations, Day Construction coordinated with the hospital IOR equipment manufacturing; perfected exact dimensional control to successfully construct the area to receive the large ceiling hung environmental equipment; and removed and relocated existing conditions. Working closely with hospital personnel, the new main power distribution center was upgraded and generators were used to ensure the hospital never lost power. During construction, the hospital remained open and operations were not affected.
