Nordstrom Corporate Jet Hanger at Boeing Field, Seattle, WA

Nordstrom’s scope of work included the design and construction of an aircraft hangar large enough to berth a Boeing 727 with a 145 foot wingspan. The selection process afforded Day Construction an exciting opportunity to present a unique design concept, while closely adhering to the owner’s budget.

Based on their initial concept, Day Construction was chosen to design and build a unique, state-of-the-art jet hangar. The design included masonry wall construction and free span joists with clear story on the roof, supplying natural lighting. To provide a mirror finish, epoxy floor coatings were used throughout the maintenance and berthing areas. This amazing, one-of-a-kind hangar includes flight offices, weather briefing rooms, gourmet kitchen facilities, passenger comfort areas and a pilot lounge.
