Stay America
Huntington Beach, CA
Serving as a new prototype for the owner, this three-story
150,000 square foot hotel, including wood frame and
site preparation, was Day Construction’s fourth
project for Extended Stay America.
Prior
to starting construction, the City Building Department
required extensive changes to the architectural drawings.
Day Construction expedited the production of the documents
for the City Building Department by initiating meetings
with the architect and coordinating delivery of the
documents to the City. The result was a much quicker
approval process and plan check delays were minimized.
Once
construction commenced, Day Construction had to minimize
disruption to the adjacent Boeing facility and their
employees. By holding on-site meetings with Boeing representatives,
Day Construction kept them abreast of upcoming activities
and conditions related to the hotel’s construction.
This communication ensured there were no surprises and
potential disruptions could be effectively managed.
Construction was completed, including extensive landscaping
next to the Boeing parking lot, without disruption to
Boeing’s operations or employees.
